I’ve been having numerous conversations lately about the future of music marketing, particularly within specialist music. As an artist, it can often feel uneasy and unsettling to stand out and make an impact in a world dominated by algorithms that reward superficial content over genuine artistic expression.
For specialist music, we need to adopt a different approach. Decentralising our output from large corporations and building our own ecosystems of storytelling and communication that resonate with our specific audiences is key. This shift requires a deeper human connection than ever before.
As we place more emphasis on artists and their unique ecosystems, the roles and responsibilities of organisations must evolve as well.
We need to redefine the rules to embrace and value creativity, ensuring that the industry adapts to support genuine artistic expression and connection.
